Oliver Sparrow

Biographical note

Oliver Sparrow is internationally known as a scenario planner, having worked with many governments, international organisations and companies. He spent twenty years with the Royal Dutch Shell Group, mainly in strategic and innovation management.

The talk, which Oliver is to give, summarizes five year's intensive collaboration with public and private sector organisations, conducted from the UK's Royal Institute for International Affairs. It reviews the pressures that business, government and societies all face in the changing world environment. Oliver's perspective is, however, uniquely drawn on the long term, and the analysis shows us the deep, structural forces, which are
forcing change in how we do business and how we run our societies. The presentation develops two scenarios for the world by 2020, both presenting major challenges to Suriname in the decades ahead.
