This MPA in Governance deals with the multiple processes through which public goods, such as the rule of law, democracy and economic stability are being provided in a developing context like Suriname.

In this program governance is not confined to the public sector but also covers the wider dimensions of governance, extending to the private sector and civil society.

At the core of the program is creating awareness and understanding of the roles of the actors of the various sectors involved in processes of governance as well as their interrelatedness.

It also seeks to strengthen the institutional capacity of the public, private sector and of civil society to effectively operate at the national and international level. After completion of the MPA in Governance participants will have acquired the ability to handle complex governance issues and manage crucial processes of governance on the basis of proper empirical and analytical input and insight in to the wider contextual environment.
